Another season, another decaf! This decaf comes from Brazil in the Araponga region and you can expect tasting notes of milk chocolate, nougat and dried fruits when brewing. All the taste, none of the caffeine!
The green coffee is dried using the natural process and sent for decaffeination using the sugarcane process. During the sugarcane process, producers use a compound called ethyl acetate which is naturally derived from cane sugar and is found in fruits and other foods. Ethyl acetate bonds to the acids in coffee beans that provide the caffeination, while leaving behind what makes coffee taste so good!
